Instead of using 8 pins to connect the keypad, what is the cheapest module to use to connect a keypad to the microcontroller. What do you call it so I sound like i know what im talking about when i walk into the shop ? Twisted Evil

Perhaps a PCF8574. There is sample code and a circuit diagram for using one to interface a matrix keypad in AN205.
