I don't often post pitches, but this seems like a neat deal... 5V to run a ZX from a 1.5V battery. AA as a rule.

There's also a 3.3V version.

I have a 5v single-AA unit arriving today for trial. Looks interesting, I agree.

It has a 0.1" header on the end for a power switch or a jumper, as supplied.

I've put one on a ZX-24a that's running my Hobbs code with one LED illuminated 50% of the time; we'll see where it stops. I have another that I'll load up to see what it can do.

OK! time to sleep that CPU.

looks like the PCB is glued to the battery holder. Maybe re-mount it on a AAA battery holder and see how long that would go with a sleepy program.

The ZX-24a Hobbs code ran for 3.72 hours on a fresh AA alkaline. The other supply produced 100mA for 45 minutes before dropping out. The battery and switcher remain cool until dropout, then the battery gets warm but not hot.

On a fresh battery, the supply shows 10mV droop at 120mA and it gets pretty steep above that. Both supplies yielded 4.97v while in regulation.
