Oak Micros is pleased to announce our latest ZBasic integrated microcontroller called the ZX-328nu. This is a "second generation" device where the “u” suffix in the name denotes that the device has USB capability for downloading application code and for host PC serial communications. The device uses an ATmega328p on a compact 0.7" x 1.4" circuit board that can be plugged into a standard 28-pin 600mil socket. See the Technical Reference for more details. Version 2.8 or greater is needed for the ZBasic Installer.

The ZX-328nu has the following integrated features:
  • 20 I/O pins in a breadboard-friendly format.
  • USB mini-B receptacle for downloading application code and for host PC serial communications. A suitable cable is available as an option.
  • Transmit and receive monitor LEDs for host communications.
  • Self-powered mode from USB port eliminates requirement for external power.
  • Red power monitor LED.
  • 5V power regulator with 600mA capacity for stand-alone use.
  • Red and green active low and yellow active high port I/O LED monitors.
  • I2C and SPI bus support using breadboard-friendly I/O pins.
The ZX-328nu is priced at $34.95 for single quantities until the end of July.
